Thank you for your interest in volunteering with SAFE for the 2026 Sandpoint Pride festival!! We are so grateful for your willingness to support our community and the 6th Annual Sandpoint Pride Festival through your time and service! We are accepting volunteer applications for a variety of jobs and shifts throughout our four-day event. The mission and purpose of the Sandpoint Pride Festival is to affirm the dignity and equality of the LGBTQIA2S community, to welcome and celebrate their contributions to society, and support the ongoing movement to secure their rights, freedom, and safety.

What is a volunteer Peacekeeper?
This volunteer role is one of responsibility for the safety of individuals expressing their perspective and taking risks for justice. Peacekeepers are the first eyes and ears on the ground, which will be supported by a full safety team. Peacekeepers use active nonviolence and de-escalation techniques to maintain safety. Training is required prior to the event

Waiver

NOTE: THIS FORM MUST BE READ AND SIGNED UNALTERED BEFORE THE PARTICIPANT IS PERMITTED TO TAKE PART IN ANY FUNCTION OR ACTIVITY – BY SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT, THE PARTICIPANT AFFIRMS HAVING READ AND UNDERSTOOD THE TERMS AND IS IN AGREEMENT WITH ITS CONTENTS.

In consideration of my involvement in the activities under the auspices of Sandpoint Pride, I hereby acknowledge, appreciate and agree that:

1. I risk bodily injury, including paralysis, dismemberment, disability and death, and this risk of injury does exist as well as the risk of damage to or loss of property;

2. I, for myself, and on behalf of my heirs, assignees, personal representatives, and next of kin, hereby, and to the fullest extent permitted by the State of Idaho, release, hold harmless and agree to not to sue Sandpoint Pride, and any parties, their officers, volunteers, staff, sponsors, and/or agents (hereinafter collectively “Releasees”) with respect to any and all injury and/or loss arising from my participation, whether caused by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise, except that which is the result of Releasees’ gross negligence or wanton misconduct, to the fullest extent permitted by the State of Idaho. The laws of the State of Idaho, exclusive of its choice of law rules, shall apply to this Waiver and Release of Liability Agreement;

3. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks; both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the Releasees or others;

4. I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If, however, I observe any unusual or unnecessary hazard during my presence or participation, I will bring such to the attention of the nearest staff person immediately;

5. I willingly consent to waive all claims and causes of action related to ownership of photographs taken on the premises of any occupants, including minor children, and herby understand that such photographs, videos, or recorded evidence will remain the exclusive property of Sandpoint Pride and can be used for marketing and promotional purposes as determined by sole discretion of the company;

6. I acknowledge that Releasees are not responsible for errors, omissions, acts or failures to act of any party or entity conducting a specific event or activity on behalf of Sandpoint Pride ;

7. In the event that I should require medical care or treatment, I authorize Sandpoint Pride and/or Sandpoint Pride to provide all emergency medical care deemed necessary, including but not limited to, first aid, CPR, the use of AEDs, emergency medical transport, and sharing of medical information with medical personnel. I further agree to assume all costs involved and agree to be financially responsible for any costs incurred as a result of such treatment. I am aware and understand that I should carry my own health insurance.

I HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS "WAIVER AND RELEASE" AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY. I EXPRESSLY AGREE TO RELEASE AND DISCHARGE Sandpoint Pride AND/OR Sandpoint Pride AND ALL OF ITS AFFILIATES, MANAGERS, MEMBERS, AGENTS, ATTORNEYS, STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, HEIRS, REPRESENTATIVES, PREDECESSORS, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS OR CAUSES OF ACTION AND I AGREE TO VOLUNTARILY GIVE UP OR WAIVE ANY RIGHT THAT I OTHERWISE HAVE TO BRING A LEGAL ACTION AGAINST Sandpoint Pride AND/OR Sandpoint Pride FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

To the extent that statute or case law does not prohibit releases for ordinary negligence, this release is also for such negligence on the part of Sandpoint Pride or its agents, and employees.

I agree that this Release shall be governed for all purposes by Idaho law, without regard to any conflict of law principles. This Release supersedes any and all previous oral or written promises or other agreements.

In the event that any damage to equipment or facilities occurs as a result of my or my family's or my agent's willful actions, neglect or recklessness, I acknowledge and agree to be held liable for any and all costs associated with any such actions of neglect or recklessness.
